Famous Narcolepsy People
Narcolepsy is a disorder which makes a person feel sleepy throughout the day. there may be rapid eye movement disorders and a person may feel excessive sleepiness during the day times. such people may not have a very peaceful sleep in the night. Narcolepsy is the result of deficiency of protein producing neurons in the brain and in some cases it may also be genetic. it has been found that there are almost 3 million people in the world suffering from Narcolepsy.
There have been some famous who have had Narcolepsy. they are:
Jimmy Kimmel: a well television host and comedian, Jimmy Kimmel was born on November 13, 1967. though a narcoleptic, Jimmy Kimmel has been associated with many TV shows. apart from the Jimmy Kimmel Live, he has also co-hosted the Man Show and produced the famous show Crank Yankers. this is not all; he is also a bass clarinet player.
Aaron Flahavan: He was an English soccer player and had started his professional career in 1994. He used to experience black outs during matches, on account of his narcolepsy. a car accident was the cause of his untimely death.
Natassja Kinski: Another narcolepsy patient who is an internationally acclaimed German actress. though she started her career as a model, she came to be known as a sex symbol in the 1970s and 1980s and went on to win a Golden Globe award as well.
These are just a few examples of the famous people suffering from narcolepsy and it just proves that though narcolepsy is a neurological disorder, it does not stop people from achieving great things in their lives.
