The third annual Sounds of Saugatuck, a free night of music on Saturday, is a way for the Venetian Festival Committee to thank sponsors of the summer event that includes fireworks and a boat parade.

“our goal is to bring people to Saugatuck and Douglas to enjoy a wide variety of music and have a great time. we hope everyone will stay for the whole weekend and take some time to browse in our quaint shops, stroll along the harbor front and enjoy dinner in one of our terrific restaurants,” said Don Karaus, Sounds of Saugatuck organizer.

This year has a new feature — a free shuttle service between venues by Cyndi’s Moonlight Express. People who want to get to the different venues in the Saugatuck-Douglas area from 6:30-11:30 p.m. can call (269) 910-3222.

“these are my people,” said Cyndi’s Moonlight Express owner Cyndi Taylor. “Someone’s got to take care of them.”

This is the first time in the company’s seven-year history it is offering the free service. Riders who want to go to non-festival locations, such as their homes, will have to pay regular fees.
