With four positions vacant for the next school year, Superintendent Joe Casey is in the final stages of replacing retiring Curriculum Director Patricia Muxie, Hoover School Principal Dennet Sidell, Horace Mann Principal Jeff Strasnick and Roosevelt School Principal Kerry Clery — who are all leaving at the end of this school year.
Casey will be retiring at the end of the school year and Cyndy Taymore has been chosen to take over as superintendent, as WickedLocalMelrose.com has reported.
Together, Casey and Taymore concluded the first round of interviews with the candidates and he is currently in the process of completing background checks. he hopes to have a decision made for all four positions by next week.
Casey is looking at six individuals for the three principal openings and four candidates for the curriculum director.
“Ms. Taymore and I have interviewed them and we’ll be making the decision as to where people go, based on what’s best for them, on their skill sets and our view of what we need in the district,” he said.
